This week we caught up Ella Mills, founder of Deliciously Ella. As she enters her 11th year in business, she has shared a snapshot of the Deliciously Ella’s journey so far.
Deliciously Ella is the UK’s leading plant-based food and wellness platform, sharing simple tools to help you lead a healthier life. Founded in 2012 by Ella Mills, the brand started from a simple recipe website, and has since released a series of best-selling cookbooks, created the #1 plant-based recipe app in Europe, opened a restaurant in Central London, and launched an award-winning range of delicious food products. At the heart of all this is the brands’ c.3m strong social media community, who are integral to everything they do. Since the brand’s founding in 2012, they’ve been a consistent leader in the plant-based food and wellness evolution.
The brand started because Ella was diagnosed with a rare condition called postural tachycardia syndrome, that leads to fainting and fatigue. To regain her health, she started looking for ways to modify her diet to improve her wellbeing. As a result, she discovered the benefits of a plant-based diet and started sharing her experiences and recipes through Deliciously Ella. Since then, her Instagram account has grown to a profile with 2.2 million followers.
Ella's recipes are inspired by her love for all natural, plant-based wholefoods. She also shares plenty of tips and tricks to make healthy eating a sustainable and appealing part of your life. In 2014, Ella published her first cookbook, which became the fastest selling debut cookbook of all time and further increased her fame. The book contains more than 100 plant-based recipes designed to be healthy and nutritious, without compromising on taste. The recipes range from comfortable classics like lasagna and shepherd's pie to more exotic dishes like chickpea curry and roasted cauliflower shoarma.
Since then, Ella has expanded the brand to include a range of plant-based food products, including granolas, oat bars, chocolate dipped nuts and vegan chocolate bars sold throughout the UK, Ireland, and Europe. All Deliciously Ella products are made from all natural, plant-based ingredients and are free from additives, preservatives, and flavours, as well as being gluten & dairy free.
